GORAN TRENCHOVSKI

Artistic Director of AsterFest

Graduated directing at the Art Academy in Novi Sad.

As director he chose works of the following authors: Aeschylus, Plautus, Buechner, Witkacy, Beckett, Ionesco, Pinter, Havel, Stefanovic, Cernodrinski, Garvanlieva etc.

He wrote three books; two are about the performing arts and the last one - Poetics of (De)thronization is a study research.

Some of his projects are Slavic Orpheus, Beggars' Opera, The Spirit of the Can, Multilevel, Vampire Man, Under, Tobacco Album.

His directions are screened and staged on Festivals in AL, BA, BG, GR, IT, SCG, SI, TR, RU.

He lived in spiritual emigration in Prague (CZ) for a year.

He has worked in almost every media in several drama genres and species.

Currently he is a free-lance film&TV&theatre director and scriptwriter.

He also has an experience as a producer, publisher and - founder of the AsterFest Ltd - Macedonia.

MULTILEVEL - fiction

A modern TV film which recounts a time of transition in a most original way. The unconventional characters are lead into tough dramatic events which subtly reveal the main idea of the film: that it is never too late for happiness and success. The story of Marta, a lively old lady who joins up with her niece, shows how ingenuity knows no boundaries. Together, the old lady and the niece succeed in creating a miracle, overcoming every obstacle placed in their way.

Un téléfilm qui racconte d'une manière très originale une période de transition. Les personnages hors du commun sont entraînés dans une série d'événements dramatiques qui révèlent subtilement l'idée principale du film: il n'est jamais trop tard pour être heureux et avoir du succès. L'histoire de Marta, une adorable grand-mère qui se retrouve avec sa nièce pour réaliser l'impossible, nous prouve que l'ingénuité ne connaît pas de limites. La grand-mère et sa nièce parviennent à accomplir un miracle, en surmontant tous les obstacles qui se présentent sur leur chemin.

Un telefilm che racconta in un modo molto originale un periodo di transizione. Personaggi fuori del comune sono trascinati in una serie di drammatiche vicende che svelano l'idea principale del film: non è mai troppo tardi per essere felici ed avere successo. La storia di Marta, un'adorabile nonna che si unisce alla nipote per realizzare l'impossibile, ci dimostra che l'ingenuità non conosce limiti. Insieme riusciranno a sormontare ogni ostacolo che si presenta sul loro percorso e compiranno un miracolo.

Within the TV festival program, At the 6th International Film Festival in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the first award went to Macedonian TV for a TV film "Multilevel", by Goran Trenchovski written by Vladimir Korobar, and produced by the Macedonian Television. Multilevel won the Gran Prix for best TV drama.

The international jury unanimously agreed to award this film among the selected films from a dozen European countries, as it stood out with its particularly successful treatment of a contemporary subject.

"Multilevel" features the following actors: Dancho Chevreski, Ljupka Dzundeva, Senko Velinov

The first show of the film is scheduled for 7th September 2000 at 12pm at the Manaki Cinema.

KRECHO - docudrama

Questa è la storia di Nikola Krechev, conosciuto come Krecho. E’ uno scapolo di quarantadue anni che da sempre conduce una vita solitaria, anche durante le feste. Trascorre il suo tempo immerso nel proprio mondo, nella città pittoresca di Dorjan, dove è nato e cresciuto e dove vorrebbe rimanere fino ai suoi ultimi giorni. Questo dramma televisivo risponde alla domanda “perché il destino ha voluto, all’inizio del nuovo millennio, che il nostro eroe dovesse combattere contro la catastrofe spirituale ed ecologica di Dojran?” Che Krecho viva tra passato e presente ne dà prova il legame sentimentale che ha stretto con la sua collezione di vecchie foto e oggetti curiosi. Per lui Dorjan rappresenta tutto: felicità, soddisfazione e speranza. E’ vero che la città non è più quella di una volta, che molta gente è andata via. Questo però non significa che in essa non ci sia più vita. Krecho vi è rimasto, personificazione del mito della Macedonia natìa.

“VAMPIRE MAN”

Der Triumph über das Böse, der Aberglaube und die leeren Versprechungen sind nur einige der Kennzeichen der neusten aus mehreren Schichten bestehenden Verwirklichung des makedonischen Fernsehprogramms, gearbeitet nach Motiven von  echten Volkssagen. Das Ereignis wird von Serafim, von Beruf her ein Mann, der die Gespenster sucht  und seinem jüngeren Gehilfen Fidan geleitet. Im Laufe der Geschichte erscheinen auch Personen, die zufällig oder absichtlich Episoden der Leistungen zur Vertreibung des Böses, das sich jahrelang auf der Balkanhalbinsel abgelagert hat, sind. In einem Augenblick, als Serafim mit dem türkischen Kapetan sprach, sagte er symbolisch: “Makedonien ist voll Gespenster, aber es gibt niemanden, der sie töten kann.”Obwohl das Ereignis in dem dramatischen Übergang vom 19. zum 20. Jahrhundert läuft, merkbar sind viele aktuelle Zweideutigkeiten, die diese Filmgeschichte in einen universalen, überlokalen Kontext stellen.

Kompositorisch betrachtet, kann man sagen, daß der Film aus drei dramatischen Teilen besteht: (Treffen, Sinnestäuschungen und Verabschiedungen), die das Moto “Bewahre dich vom Hund” verbindet. Man weist den Hund, der Hund als Verkörperung des Tiertriebs, der Wut und die Bewahrung der Geheimnisse aus der unterirdischen Welt. So ist einem der Protagonisten ein Hundeschicksal vorausgesetzt. 

Genrehaft, ist der Film auf einer bestimmten Art und Weise ein psychofantastisches Drama. Es sind mehrere balancierten Charaktere drinnen, wessen grostesk annehmbaren Schicksale in bestimmten dramatischen Situationen am Rand der Imagination oder des Surrealistisches sind, und die das Geheimnis offen lassen, ob es übernatürliche Erscheinungen gibt. Neben den beiden Hauptpersonen, ziehen mit ihrer Vielfalt sowohl die Person von Gorazd, der Bruder des Mannes, der die Gespenster sieht und den eigenen Weg gegen das Böse ausgewählt hat, als auch die von Dzemsit, dunkelhäutigem Serdar, der die Komitaschen sucht, an. Neben den spannenden szenischen Gegebenheiten, sind auch einige originelle Frauenpersonen anwesend, die der Hauptlinie des dramatischen Laufs einen besonderen Impuls geben.

Die Regie vereinigt fähig das Spiel der Akteure und die audiovisulle Seite und schafft erfolgreich Montagesekvenzen, wobei es auf eine moderne kinestetische Art und Weise die suggestive Atmosphere ereicht ist, die sehr genau den ausgewählten thematisch-inhaltlichen Entscheidungen dieser ungewöhnlichen Geschichte passt.

The middle-length film "Under" by the Macedonian director Goran Trenchovski, as well as the actor Laze Manaskov, were awarded Diplomas at the VII International Detective Film Festival "Detective FEST". At the manifestation, which took place in Moscow, April 20-25, 2005, "Under" was nominated in "The Best Detective Film" category, while Manaskov, for his role in the film, in the category "Antihero". The Macedonian film is financed through the Broadcasting Council from the broadcasting tax means for public interest programs. It competed with more than 100 films from 14 countries. The Festival is held under the auspices of UN, Council of Europe and is supported by the Russian Federation. Its basic function is to give moral support to the authors of films and television programs intended to help the fight against delinquency and terrorism, to create positive heroes, and to respect the Law and the legal organs.
